VILLA SHAKKEI
DIBUJOS VECTORES-02.png

The form of the project emerges as a direct response to the site, flowing with the existing topography and occupying areas where vegetation was naturally less dense. In this way, the architecture inserts itself into the voids of the landscape without intervening in the forest or modifying the ground, acknowledging that nature is older and more permanent.

The building rests gently on the slope, sliding across it as a temporary presence that borrows the place without appropriating it. In Yakushima, where humidity and mist define the everyday atmosphere, the architecture is perceived as a silent presence: a spirit that emerges from the forest, camouflages itself as a cloud, descends, and comes to rest on the plain, softening its boundaries in order to pass unnoticed.

This condition is not symbolic, but rather a way of existing without imposing, embracing the variability of climate, light, and time. Within this concept, the cloud does not remain only as form, but undergoes a transformation. The spirit that inhabits it also adopts the condition of stone, mimicking its colors and densities. Through bronze-clad roofs, the architecture assumes the tones of the rocky ground and the deep shadows of the forest, allowing the fluidity of the cloud to acquire the chromatic density of stone, visually dissolving into the landscape as it rests
